Dimonze: Chapter 11 Time Out in Space

A few days after the little incident, it was another fine day at Sonic's house.  Sonic was eating his breakfast when someone knocked on his door.  Sonic ran to the door and opened it.  It was General Meris Treleze.  He came in and said, "Good morning Sonic.  I have some good news for you.  You and I are going up to see your brother. We are leaving today!"

Sonic jumped up in excitement, "Yes!!  It has been a while since I have seen my big bro!"  Then he paused a moment.  "Hey… it's kinda sudden.  What about Tails and Kucheu?  I can't leave them hanging!"

"We can't take them with us.  Only a few people can go on the shuttle, and it is full."  

"But Kucheu holds valuable information about Dr. Robotnik.  And Tails is the only one that might be able to get the information out of her."

"Well… They can stay in your house, and they will be protected by my men.  But that is all I can offer them right now."

"Cool deal!  Thank you sir. I want it arranged before we go."

"All right.  You get packing, and I'll sort things out."  Then General Meris took out a communicator and started to make a few calls.  He first called Tails to explain a few things.  Then he called a few men to get things ready for Tails and Kucheu.

About two hours later, Tails and Kacheu were brought to Sonic's house.  One of the escorts asked them, "So what school do you kids go too?"  

Kucheu sighed, "The school I went to is too far from here.  I will make due with your schools that are around If I must."

Then Tails answered, "I never went to a school."  

"What!!" exclaimed the man, "We will put you into a class.  And class will start in a few minutes.  So let's hop to it!!"

"Not before I say good buy to him." said Sonic coming in.  Sonic came up to Tails and started to do that one hand shake that Tiya has done before, "I will be back in a few days.  And General Meris's men will take good care of you."

"I will be waiting for you, Sonic!" said Tails.  Sonic went out the door and waived good by.

Then the men started to show Tails and Kucheu the way to school.  The school grounds were just a block away.  He took them into the building, and led them into a class room, "This is the class that was reserved for you two.  They will make adjustments later."

Tails and Kacheu sat at the empty desks.  It was not long till Tails realized that all the other kids were staring at him, not saying anything.  Tails's ears went down as he slumped into his desk.

Soon a Trereb in a white Reanthis, known as the teacher came in and said, "Good morning class.  Today we have two new students Tails and Kucheu."  The whole class said hello ending with Tails's and Kucheu's names.  

Then the Teacher took a beaker of blue liquid and said, "Okay class.  Today's lesson involves with this liquid.  Can anybody tell me what this stuff is?"  

Tails raised his hand and said, "That is Kallphit.  When it gets mixed with water it makes an explosion.  And with the amount you have in that beaker, the explosion would be about 120 feet in diameter."

The teacher blinked in surprise.  Eventually he responded, "Very good Tails!  Are you sure this is your first time in school?"  

Tails thought for a moment and nodded, "I think so.  I may have some schooling before I lost my memory.  But I am not sure."  

"You seam to have extensive knowledge.  Or at least just for Kallphit.  Let's test your knowledge.  Tell me, what is the boiling point for Prochroleom 13?"  

"The complete boiling point of Prochroleom 13 is 63,035 degrees.  Prochroleom 13 is also the strongest material known in the universe.  Most supplies of the element is found on drifting asteroids, or some times on a moon near a star."  

"Wow!!  That is amazing!  No child your age knows that Prochroleom 13 even exists!  How could you even know…"  

"I think only Dr. Hower Livingtor can answer that questions."

The Teacher shook his head clear.  He looked at Tails and said, "You are the two tailed fox that Sally was talking about!!"

Tails looked down and pleaded, "Pleas don't draw attention on me.  I had enough problems with my two tails.  Pleas don't tell Sally that I am here!  It could mean complete disaster if you do."  

"Don't worry.  This is a military base.  No one that lives, or works here tells any reporters about what happens here."  

"That's good," sighed Tails with relief.

"So how are your math skills?  I would not suppose you could figure 1586 times 685?"  Then the teacher started to walk over to his desk.

It was only seconds later when Tails answered, "That would be 1,086,410."

"What!?" exclaimed the teacher when he looked back.  He got out a sheet of paper and a pencil and started to work it out.  In a few moments, he looked back up at Tails, "That's… correct… wait here for a moment."  Then the teacher went out of the room.

One of the kids leaned over and asked, "Yo, how did you do that!?"

Tails looked over to him, "I build machines all day.  So I go threw a lot of numbers.  Also it takes quit a bet of calculus to do some jets and stuff.  Especially for things that go into space"

"Whoa, I wish I could do that!"

Then the teacher came back in with a booklet.  He set it in front of Tails and said, "This is a test at a 14th level.  There are 50 questions in each subject, totaling 500 questions.  This is just to see where you are at."

As Tails started to take the long test, the teacher started his lecture to the rest of the class.  Tails never wondered how he got his knowledge until now.  He just thought it was something everyone was born with.  There was not a question in there that he did not know.  No question took him longer than 10 seconds to do.

A little more than an hour latter, Tails finished the test.  He put the pencil down and closed the booklet.  The teacher came by and picked it up.  He went over to his desk and ran the booklet in a machine.  It soon came up with a 100%.  "What!?" exclaimed the teacher, "You don't belong in a school!  You belong in the finest universities!!"

Tails was wondering how to take such a complement.  He eventually said, "So I suppose I can go back home on the count that you guys can't teach me anything new."  Then Tails hopped off of the chair and went out of the classroom.

Out in space, Sonic was on a space shuttle on his way to a space station.  Meris looked over to Sonic and asked, "Are you nerves about seeing your brother after a year."

"No way!" said Sonic, "I just hope he doesn't treat me like a little kid this time.  Last time when we went, it was all don't touch that, go back to your quarters, grow up, and you are getting in my way!"  

Meris chuckled, "That's because you are acting like a little kid.  You know that your brother is always very busy.  Even on his free times like this one, he has things he needs to do.  You know he loves you very much."

"Yea I know.  I just wish we could spend more time with each other.  But it seems that big bros. are just mean sometimes."  

"No they're not.  They're just more mature.  I had a big brother and a little brother, so I know the two sides of the coin."

Then the intercom said, "Attention all passengers.  We just reached space station X 25.  Prepare to dock!  All passengers must be seated and strap yourselves into your seats please."

Everyone got buckled in and waited.  They could see the station out the windows.  Soon the station let down two landing arms that came to the sides of the shuttle.  When they came in contact, the shuttle shook.  The arms brought the shuttle to an airlock.  In a few moments the intercom said, "We just have landed.  You may now exit and have a nice day."  

Everyone made there way out of the shuttle and into the space station.  Sonic saw Flash waiting by the airlock for him and General Meris.  Sonic ran up to him and high fived him.

General Meris came up and saluted.  Flash saluted back to him. Then he asked, "I trust your trip went well?"

"We are here, aren't we?" responded Meris.

"It's so good to see you again bro.!" exclaimed Sonic.

"It is good to see you too." said Flash, "Where is that two tailed friend of yours?"

"He could not come, the shuttle was full," answered Sonic sadly.  "So do we have some time for any fun?"

"Yes we do.  I reserved one of the gravitron rings for us.  At least this old molded station has one good thing about it.  You can race around the ring and not come to an end."

"Yes!! I would love to go racing!!"

Flash and Sonic ran to an elevator to go up to a gravitron ring. Soon they got to one of the rings.  You could see that the whole hallway curved upward.  And the gravity was strong.

Flash drew a line on the floor and said, "We will do 200 laps around the ring.  The computer will count our individual laps and tell us who wins.  So are you ready?"

"You bet!" exclaimed Sonic as he got behind the line.

When Flash got behind the line, the computer said, "Get ready, get seat, GO!!"  In that split second both Sonic and Flash dashed off.

They were running at high speed, causing a sonic boom.  They both jumped to the speed of 700 miles per hour.  They started out side by side.  Sonic was really straining himself to keep running.

Flash looked over to Sonic and said, "I hope you ran as much as I do."  Before Sonic could respond, Flash boomed up to 900 miles per hour.  Within a second Flash came up behind Sonic and said, "I just over lapped you two times.  Are you going to let me do it a third time?"

Sonic started to strain himself even more to get more speed.  But he only got to 750 miles per hour.  Soon Flash came up to him running backwards and said, "I thought you would be able to run faster than this.  On the count that you are doing something you are not suppose to do."

Sonic looked at Flash in surprise.  Sonic lost concentration and was slowing down.  As he was breathing hard, he asked, "What are you talking about, big bro.?"

"I know what you have been doing!" said Flash, "You may have come out of school early like me, but you are still 17.  You can't be fighting Dr. Robotnik like that.  One day he will trick you and he could have you killed!"  

Then the computer announced, "Race is over!  Captain Flash wins!"

Sonic and Flash went into a dead stop.  Sonic looked at Flash, still breathing hard, "Must you ruin our time like this?"

Flash shook his head and said, "I do not want too.  I can't really stop your boredom.  Let's just hope your friend Tails can keep you out of deep trouble.  I don't know about you, but it is lunchtime here.  So let's go down to the plaza and get something to eat!"

Sonic and Flash went to the elevator to go down to the plaza.  When they got there, it was a large open chamber that had many places to go and eat.  It also had a spectacular view of deep space and a planet below.  Most of the men on the station were already there.

Flash soon asked, "So… What would you like to eat?"

Sonic was looking at all the places to go eat, he did not know witch one to go to.  He looked up at flash and said, "They all look so good, can't we just go to them all?"

Flash started to go to one place and said, "Sure, but I know what I want."  He went over to a sea food area and started to order some crab.

Within a few minuets they got there food and sat at one of the tables overlooking the stars.  As they were eating, Flash asked, "So how is Kika doing?  Is she doing well?"

After Sonic slurped up a noodle he answered, "She is doing grate!!  Her disguising work is excellent now!"  

"That's nice to hear.  So is all well at the homes?"  

"If you mean good and boring, yea.  So I just get off the base to find something to do most of the time."  

"Like medial in things you should not be meddling in?"  

"Let's not start that again.  I don't only go out to do that.  I also go out to swim, run, climb up rocky mountains, and… and now I can do something completely new!  We call it snow surfing!!"

"Snow surfing!?  What's that?"

"Well… Tails discovered this new sport.  We have snow boards and we slid down Mohaya Mountain.  It's almost like surfing!"  

"Interesting... You certainly live for the moment. Well I am done eating.  I would like to show you something on the moon that we are close to.  We found something very entreating."

"All right!" Sonic and Flash got up and put their trays away.  Flash took Sonic to the elevator to go down to the docking bay.  It did not take them long to get down to the large chamber.  

When the elevator stopped, Flash went to an office and started to talk to someone in there.  In a few moments he came back out with a card.

Flash took Sonic into a shuttle.  Once inside, they got strapped into there seats.  Flash got a holed of the controls and started to fly the shuttle.  He carefully took it out of the docking bay and soon flew it strait to a moon.

While Sonic was looking at the moon getting closer, he asked, "So… Did you build a base on the planet yet?"

Flash smiled and said, "Yes, We just finished it last week.  Now we can study more than its moons and clouds.  Now hang on.  We are approaching the surface."

Flash took the shuttle down to the ground with a smooth landing.  Flash went to the back of the shuttle and put on a space suit.  Sonic also put one on.  Then they went to the air lock.

When they came out Sonic looked at the clouds of the moon and exclaimed, "This is amazing!  Last time I was not aloud to be on anything out in space, except for the station, and a shuttle."

Flash went over to some large rock.  He started looking around it and soon waived Sonic over.  Sonic was trying to get used to the low gravity.  He bounced over to see what Flash wanted.  Flash picked up some kind of red gem.  He showed it to Sonic and said, "This is one of the few life forms that are on this moon.  We call them Gemtite's."  

"Life form?" pondered Sonic, "It does not look like anything alive to me.  It looks like a ruby."

"Well this Gemtite is alive.  There is an energy filed that flows threw it.  They reproduce, very slowly though.  And they seem to have emotion.  They are most happy when there are seven of them together.  They would make perfect pets on the count that they don't eat."

At that moment Sonic started to think about Tails and the data from Dr. Hower.  He remembered that it said that Tails was the perfect pet.  He just about did not like the idea of Tails being considered someone's pet.

Soon he was woken back up by Flash waiving his hand in front of him.  "Are you all right?"

"Yea, I was just in deep thought."

"Anyway, I would ask if you would like to take a few of them home, but we would be taking them from the habitat, and we don't know enough about them."

"Habitat…" started Sonic in a near daze.  "Tails's habitat…"

"Are you sure your all right little bro.?"

Sonic shook his head, "Sorry!  I guess I was taking a snooze cruse."

"You said something about Tails.  Are you already missing him?  You two certainly became real good friends…  Your wondering where he came from aren't you?"

Back on Karthath, Tails was sitting on a couch watching the monitor.  Then Kacheu walked in and asked, "What are you doing Tails?"  

Tails sighed as he watched the monitor, "Sally has been on none stop.  She has been asking people about me every where.  She even got to Dr. Sara.  But she got nothing out of her. Except that I am a Kitsune."  

"Don't worry.  She won't find you."  

"She knows that Sonic and I are friends.  She might just find out where Sonic lives, and she can guess that I must be near by."  

"Well… Even if that does happen, I don't think Dr. Robotnik has a chance against a military base.  If Sonic can defeat Robotnik by himself then a whole army can defeat him, right?"  

"You're right!  There is no way.  Not even his technology is advance enough to do that."  Then he turned the monitor off, and got up.  

"Where are you going, Tails?"  asked Kucheu.

Tails turned back to her and said, "I am going to bed.  It will be dark soon."

As she twiddled her thumbs, she said, "I was hoping you would watch the sun go down with me."

Tails just stared at her for a moment, "Hu… Sure."

They both went out side and started to climb up onto the roof.  Both of them got up there and sat on the gable of the house to watch the sun.  The Sun looked as if it was moving faster as it came down.  Kacheu put her arm over Tails's shoulder as she observed the sun despairing into Mohaya Mountain.

Tails soon realized that she was snuggling up against him.  He was uncertain what it was, he never encountered this kind of contact before.  Eventually he put his arm around her, thinking that it was the best thing to do for the moment.  Then he watched the last of the sun disappear.
