Sonic Tribal: Ch. 14

Chapter 14 Chaos!!

It was a dark and stormy day.  It was raining like never before.  Tails just got up on his feet and throbbed his aching head, from hitting it when he was blasted backwards.  He looked to where the Eggman was, and it was dead.  Still with the spear shoved up his nose.  Apparently when the chaos emeralds where taken away, they could not heal this human anymore.  Tails found at least this event satisfactory.  But what of that creature?

The little fox looked for the glow of the water creature.  But it was gone.  But in that moment he remembered that a smaller water creature has shown up to him before.  He knew about the Great Spirit Chaos, but could this larger creature be a new form of him?

In that instant Cream started to run up the steps, followed closely by Amy, who looked overwhelmed at the damages that have been done.  Cream just about bumped into Tails, because it was hard to see.  She looked up at him and said, "Tails!  You got to stop him!  I felt the feedback and it was fueled by negative energy from that Eggman!"

"I already killed him," said Tails in a low voice as he pointed to the Eggman.

"Not him.  Chaos!  You're the only one that can stop him.  He will soon eat the other chaos emeralds and become perfect Chaos!  With that much negative power, he will destroy everything!"

Tails just stared at her with a blank face, "You got to be joking!  I… I can't stop something like that!"

Then Cheese started to fly around Tails, chirping chao.  Then a few other Chao started to appear from the trees and they all started to fly around Tails, all of them singing.  Soon Cream said, "See, they all believe in you.  And they talk to you all the time.  They tell you things almost before it happens, right?"

"What?" asked Tails, "Urm… no, the trees do.  The trees talk to me."

"It's not the trees, Tails.  It's the Chao in the trees.  Now hurry!  The longer we wait!  The more devastation Chaos will bring."

Tails still could not believe that he is the only hope of stopping this thing, and not knowing how.  But if it is true, he could not delay.  The little fox jumped into the trees and started to head north.  The trees, or Chao, gave him the feeling that is where he should go.

He was swift moving through the trees, regardless if he could see anything from all the rain.  And down below, he could see the jungle floor was a massive river.  The whole place was flooded with deep rapids.  What ever walked on the ground was swept away.  This will become a problem if the boars can't find a place to hide.  But at least they will still have fish to hunt.

Eventually the little fox decided to get to the top branches of the trees.  With some quick leaps, and running up the branches, he got to the top.  He was able to use his tails a bet more, and practically hovered above the leaves, still pulling and leaping a bet from the branches for boosts of speed.

The sky was completely black, and the only light was from lightning that struck down in many places.  The thunder that followed terrified Tails, but he had to keep on going.  But at least he was able to see a bit better.  Although he had night vision, the rain was just so heavy he could not see far.

All of a sudden, he got a voice that said he was here.  So Tails did a back flip and dived into the leaves.  He swung down some branches and vines to come to a flooded village. Tails then started to hope that the new valve systems that Boomer installed in Knothole are good enough.

Tails started to look around, he had no idea that there was a village out over here.  But he soon saw a tribe of wolves taking refuge in the trees.  Tails carefully started to climb his way to them, he did not want to spook them.  When he got close enough, they saw him.  Then Tails said, "Hi, I'm from the Knothole village, something terrible has happened, and I was sent here."

The Chief of the Wolf tribe soon said, "Yes something terrible has happened!! Look at our village!  We have to start all over, and our live stock is lost!" then he howled dispersedly.  Then the rest of the Wolf tribe howled with him.

"A human has done something bad," started Tails, "And now Chaos is… well… He is not himself.  And he is coming after the Chaos Emeralds.  We must keep them away from him!"

The Chief pulled out a blue emerald from his pouch, "I don't know what a human is, but what would you suggest we do?  We guard this emerald with our lives, and we aren't just going to hand it over to you."

In that moment the water started to rise up in a dome shape.  It quickly swallowed the Chief and the emerald he had.  7 Chaos Emeralds total started to glow inside this water dome.  There was a bright blinding flash.  Soon a new water creature was before them.  It looked more like a serpent coming out of the water.  It roared and shot out a beam of light from its mouth.  The light hit another area of the jungle and with the sound of thunder and blue fire, it was destroyed.

Tails could only look in horror, thinking that this must be the Perfect Chaos that Cream warned him about.  He could only tremble, for that he had no clue how he could stop it.  Then Chaos soon started to go on the move.  He was heading North West, as he sank into the flood.  

Tails just kept wishing that Sonic was with him.  Sonic had skills, and nothing was hopeless to him.  But Sonic is not here.  The little fox was on his own, and had to remember all the things that his best buddy has taught him.  So the little fox courageously leaped back to the top of the trees and started to follow where Chaos went.

After a tiring 32 minutes of speeding above the branches, Tails got to what looked like an ocean.  It was the desert, but it was flooded too.  Tails was breathing hard and warn out.  He knew that Chaos was out there some where, but he was too tired to try to cross the flood of that size.

Tails sat on a branch, looking out the new formed sea with hopelessness.  He was catching his breath and was thinking about what happened in his village.  Everyone that the Eggman killed… even Sonic.  Tails soon growled, "I can't give up!!  I got to keep going!!  For Sonic, and all of them!!"

The little fox mustered all the energy he could and he jumped out to the water with his tails spinning.  He splashed into the water, and his tails propelled him upward and he was soon hovering above the water in great speed.  The ability that he developed and used to keep up with Sonic has become very handy.

Tails jetted across the water for a long time.  Nearly blind from the rain, exhausted, and hopeless jesters of stopping Chaos, Tails kept on going.  He only had the voice of the Chao to guide him.

Eventually he came to a city that looked similar to the one they saved the Rabbit tribe from.  But this place was in ruin.  Even though it was the second time seeing one, the little Fox looked upon it breathlessly.  However that became a mistake because it messed up his breathing rhythm to keep his speed up.  Now he got a side pain, so he started to paint real hared so he could keep going.  

Tails got closer to the city and saw that all the towers had heavy water falls coming down from the top.  All the water movement was breaking the buildings apart.  And soon Tails saw many human bodies floating around.

Tails was trying to find a good place to dock, so he can rest his tails.  However all the buildings had rushing water coming down them, so he could not land on them.  Tails just kept jetting by, and he soon saw some kind of floating metal object.  Tails went ahead and got on it and started to rest.  He felt like his tails where ready to fall off.

While he was sitting there, catching his breath, he looked around.  There was so much devastation and destruction.  He did not see Chaos anywhere, but yet the destruction was still going on.  Pieces of buildings fall and crash into the water.  It was very noisy with the roaring water everywhere.

Tails soon had the feeling from the Chao that Chaos was busy wiping out four other cities like this right now, but he will soon be back.  But back for what?  Tails had no clue what he was going to do.  Chaos must be incredibly fast if he can get to 5 cities in this length of time.

Then all of a sudden Tails got a message in his head that he was to go out of the city, and head to even deeper water.  It was where the real ocean is.  The little fox was still warned out.  He stayed on this metal object and put his tails in the water.  Slowly he started to row, and move in the direction that he was told to go.

At the slow speed he was moving, it was hours till he got to the point where he was sure he needed to be at.  He stopped rowing and just sat there.  It was still raining hard.  And Tails was getting cold to his core.  He started to not feel so good.  He never had been cold before.

Then there was the sound of rumbling and the rain just suddenly stopped.  Chaos rose from the water right in front of Tails.  And he shot a beam of light from his mouth and want directly down into the water.  It was a constant blue ray of power and soon all the water started to spiral down.

A line of water going down started to appear along the equator.  Chaos has cracked the planet, and the water is now filling up the gape.

Tails's floatation device started to spiral down till it hit a rock on the ocean floor. Tails looked up and saw the walls of water that where rushing down the newly formed canyon that Chaos was still blasting into.  The Fox could only be a spectator, for that he was so small and insignificant to the god of destruction.

The little fox got to his feet and did the only thing he could do.  "Chaos!!!  Stop!!!  Pleas stop!!"  Then Tails picked up a rock and threw it at Chaos.  The rock went far and plunked on Chaos's nose.

Chaos stopped blasting and looked at Tails.  A long tentacle of water arose and started to come down at Tails to crush him.  Tails ducked down and closed his eyes.  He heard the boom of the tentacle hitting, but he found that he was okay.  He looked and saw that the tentacle had hit him, but he was unharmed.  Tails was inside the tentacle.  Despite it was water, the little fox could still breath in it.

The tentacle went up, leaving Tails on the rock.  Then another tentacle came down to smash Tails.  It slammed down and cracked the rocks, but it did not harm Tails.  Chaos sure looked like he was bent towards brining everything to an end.  He was filled with negative energy, but he could not harm Tails.

However the rocks that Tails was standing on soon broke away, and the little fox started to fall to the depths of the canyon.  There was water rushing everywhere and hardly anything he could get a hold of.  But before he was falling too fast, he was able to grab on to a coral plant that was sticking out from the cliff.

Tails was trying to get on top of it, but soon a tentacle of water smashed into Tails.  Although it did not harm him, everything that he was holding on to was obliterated.  He fell and soon smacked onto a small plateau.  The little fox was unconscious.

When he woke up, he started to get back to his feet.  He looked up at Chaos, who seemed to be up so high now.  "Choas!!!  You have to stop this!!  You created us!  We took care of you!  Pleas don't destroy us!!"

Chaos looked down at the small puny fox.  Then he opened his mouth wide, revealing all the sharp teeth in his jaws that looked like it was an acer long.  He soon lunged down and gulped up Tails.  There was a flash of light. Everything went misty as the water came crashing down and filled the canon, drowning the little fox.

Tails suddenly woke up with a big gasp.  He found that he was laid on the very top of the trees.  He could see a bright sky with a colorful rainbow.  It was so beautiful.  He then started to think back on how he ended up here.  He could not remember a thing after getting gulped up.  Maybe it was all just a dream.

The little fox swung down some vines to get back down to the village, and everyone was all right.  They where all running around actively, but they seemed to be real happy about something.

"Tails, there you are!!" called out Sonic's voice, "We did it!!  I don't remember how, but we did it!!"

Tails jumped down and hugged Sonic.  He was so happy to see him alive and well.  But he soon asked, "Did what Sonic?"

"Don't you remember!?  We killed the Eggman!  I don't know how we did it, but when we woke up, we found him near the shrine with a spear wedged up in his nose.  Though he denies it, I think Knuckles probably did that, he is the only one here aggressive enough to pick that spot."

Tails started to realize that all that stuff was not a dream, it really happened.  But he did not want to tell Sonic all about it.  For one thing he has no idea what happened when he got gulped, or how everyone is alive again.  What was real confusing was that Chaos could not hurt him.  But at this point Tails was just happy that things are normal now.

Both Sonic and Tails went threw the Temple Palace, to get to the shrine.  Knuckles just yanked the spear out of Eggman's nose, and all kinds of stuff was pulled out of his head too.  He looked up at Sonic and said, "Hey Sonic.  I have been trying to figure out what to do with this thing.  We diffidently don't want to eat it.  And we aren't going to burn it. Do you think we should let the jungle have it?"

Sonic looked down to Eggman's body and nodded, "Yeah, let the jungle have it."

"Right," said Knuckles as he picked the Eggman's body over his head.  He then looked over to the Master Emerald and said, "Oh by the way.  The Master Emerald has stopped pulsing.  Maybe getting rid of the Eggman was all it needed."  Then he continued to walk to the edge of the outer wall and threw the body far into the jungle.

Tails walked up the steps of the shrine to see the Master Emeraled in one piece.  He gazed at it with relief that things are back to normal, and the threat is over.  However while he was gazing into the Master Emerald, he saw his own reflection show up in it.  As he kept looking, he saw Chaos show up in the heart of his reflection.
