Sonic Tribal: Ch. 5

Chapter 5 Defend the Emerald

It was a day of distress in the village, Sonic got hurt and they have a human problem.  Sally was going up to the gate to speak with the Gate Keeper.  There is a door next to the gate that leads to a chamber in the hill.  That is where the Gate Keeper lives and keeps watch.  Ever so often he is given some time off so he can sleep, and get some sun outside.  He was a white hedgehog.

Sally entered the room where there where some gears, weights, and rope that operated the gate.  The hedgehog was just casually sitting on a block of stone that was next to a window.  He saw Sally come in and she said, "Silver, for the situation that is going on, I am restricting everyone from going past this gate without my permeation.  Ash and Manic are still out there.  They are looking for some stone tablets, as well as some food.  Also, if you see a strange furless creature that looks like an egg with legs, ring the bells!  For that THING must be killed on sight!"

Silver just gave a thumbs without saying a word, and he continued to watch things out of the window.  He seems to be somewhat mellow like Manic, or half a sleep from not getting to sleep all that often.  But he has never fallen a sleep while on duty, nor left his post for anything.  He is serious about his work, but a fun guy to be around.

It was not long till Manic came and he had a fair sized boar that he carried on his shoulders. "Hey dude! Open up!"  The Gate Keeper pulled on a leaver for the gate to swing open.  Then Manic came in, "Thanks man!"

Silver stepped to the door, "Yo Manic! Is it true that Tails nearly got your bro. killed?

Manic looked at Silver, "Intentionally I 'm sure.  Sally won't talk about it, and Tails has been up in the trees and won't come down."

"That kid makes me nervous.  It's creepy how he sneaks around and I can't smell or hear him."

"Haha, you and me both dude!"  Then Manic carried on to the Grand Kitchen.

It was a few minutes latter when Ash came and demanded the gate to be opened quickly.  He had several tablets in his arms and he was in a hurry, as soon as the gates open, Ash rushed in and he ran to the Temple Palace.  He wasted no time to get to Sally's throne room and he put the tablets on the table.  He put his two fists together, "Chef Sally, I found a lot of them, but this was all I could carry.  They seem to be popping out every where!  I think the Great Spirit Chaos wants us to find them.  I even thought I saw Chao spirits digging some up before they disappeared."

Sally started to look into the tablets.  First she was rearranging them because they do go in order, almost like a jigsaw puzzle.  "Well," started Sally, "I am still missing most of the information.  But what I gather, the humans are wicked beings that poisoned the world… and it cuts there.  On this tablet it says that Chaos made a great flood to cleanse the planet from the humans, and life can flourish…  And this one says something about humans surviving and rising up again as if they learned nothing.  All this happened before we where born and started our tribe. "

"Chef Sally!" said the voice of Boomer as he came up the steps with his two fists together, "I have experience with that flood.  Most places without the proper water redirection, and of course protection of Chaos, will all be swept away.  Even this jungle sustained a bit of damage.  I suggest that you allow me to install a few valve systems that will drain our village when that time comes again."

"You never told me that you where in a flood," started Sally, "How long ago was this?"

"Sorry Sally, I did not think it where things that I needed to tell you, and I thought all humans where destroyed.  It was about 500 years ago.  Can't be exact though, I was rather young at the time.  I don't think we have the means of stopping them if they come.  I thought they where all dead, so I did not bother to learn how to match there weapons."

"What else do you know about them!?" asked Sally as she was a bit irritated that Boomer has been keeping knowledge, "What kind of weapons do they have!?  Sonic has already been taken by surprise with some magic staff that Thing had."

"They have staffs that shoot thunder, balls that explode flames, and they have heavy machines that rumble the ground and we are no match for those.  I only expected to be facing against the natural! Not humans!  But if there is only one, we may have a chance!"  Then all of the sudden the bells from many corners of the village started to ring.

Outside of the village walls Robotnik has followed some tracks to the village.  "For the greatest hunter in the world!  This will be like taking candy from a baby! Only ten times more fun, because I will take there skins after I get that power, and make Robotnik land!!"

Then he saw a bunch of savages come up at the top of the wall.  In that instant they started throwing spears.  Robotnik ran and took cover behind a tree.  The spears came down and stuck to the ground and the tree that Robotnik was hiding behind.  Apparently those animals have good aim and strength.

Robotnik dashed to another tree as he shot his gun at the tribe on the wall.  He killed a few before he got to the tree and nearly got hit by spears.

He took a grenade off his belt and armed it.  He threw it towards the gate, and in seconds it exploded.  Causing extensive damage to the gate and many of the savages on the wall fell to there death.  Robotnik saw that there where no more on the wall.  So he proceeded to the gate, and cautiously looked around.

Robotnik started to make his way to a structure that looked important.  Then at that moment many tribe members just popped out of nowhere and had him surrounded.  Robotnik used his advanced hunting skills to run out of the way as some of the animals threw spears at him.  Robotnik shot many of them, and even thrown gurnards at them.  Bodies flew as balls of fire raged upwards.

Manic ran up behind Eggman to send the spear down in his gut, but Eggman turned around and smacked Manic with the end of his gun.  When Manic was sent to the ground, the human shot Manic in the leg and he screamed in agony.

Many other tribe members jumped out to stop this Eggman.   Even the girls where armed with spears.  But the Eggman was even skilled with hand to hand combat.  He shot many of them and knocked them out with the end of his gun.

Eventually Boomer came up and threw a spear at him, and the spear hit the side of the Eggman, but that just seemed to make him mad and did not hurt anything vital.  The Eggman just shot Boom and headed to the Temple Palace.

Boomer was okay, thanks to his thick blubber, he was not hurt too badly. "Gawsh I don't get it.  If it where any other human we would have killed him when we had him surrounded.  This must be some sort of super human!  Ghuuu…"

As Robotnik was walking threw the halls; just assuming that this emerald is strait ahead, a girl with a bow staff came out from the left, it was Sally.

The Eggman drew is gun and shot at her, but by this time she already ran up and jumped in a flip.  In the instant of her landing in front of Robotnik, she sent a series of attacks with many skilled movements that knocked the snot out of Robotnik.  She soon struck the bow staff at the back of his knees and she swung around to smack him in the chest.  This combination made the Eggman fall backwards.

While he was on the ground, He kicked Sally with his long legs.  While she was down on the floor, Eggman got his gun and aimed it at her.  However she was quick to get back up and put some serous moves with her bow staff.  She been smacking quit a bit of blood out of Robotnik.

Robotnik soon swung his gun like a bat and knocked Sally into a daze.  Then he smacked her again, even harder this time.  She was flown and skidded across the floor, down for the count.

The big fat human came out to the back court yard and saw the shrine up the hill.  And there was the glimmering Master Emerald.  As he rubbed his hands together in a greedy manor, "There it is!  Victory is mine!"

In that instant a brain shattering fist was just bashed into Robotnik's face.  Robotnik was taken down in an instant.  The impact practically broke his jaw.  And he was unable to see.  He has never been hit so hard in his life.

When his vision came back, he saw the Guardian of the Master Emerald.  He was ready to box, and with his strength, he had the upper hand.  He approached the Eggman, about to knock him out.  However, Eggman just aimed his gun and shot the unarmed tribal member.

Now there was nothing left to stop this super hunter from getting what he wanted.  He approached the emerald, and reached out for it.  Then all of a sudden an arrow just stuck him in the back.  Thanks to all his fat, it did not do any real damage.  Robotnik turned around and took a shot from where ever the arrow came from.  He did not see or hear anything.  So he assumed He must have killed what ever shot at him.

Robotnik started to turn around, back to the Emerald, but almost all at once, 3 arrows where sent into his chest, a bit deeper this time.  "How many savages are there!!"  yelled Robotnik as he just started shooting at random in the trees.

It was all silent.  Nothing looked as if there where any movement, and then in an instant an arrow zipped into Robotnik's collar bone.  He was having trouble breathing, and he was coughing out blood.  He started to waver around, and decide to retreat.  He was stumbling to the edge of the wall.  And then 3 arrows came and struck the Eggman in the back, causing him to fall off the wall.

Tails jumped down from a tree and still had his bow at the ready, however he only had two arrows left in his quiver.  He crept to the edge of the wall and saw that the Eggman was gone.  He then turned around to attend to Knuckles but he saw some sort of creature made of water, standing on top of the Master Emerald.  It was looking at Tails, and bowed.  It soon just disappeared right before his eyes.

The little fox was stun to see this spectacle, but he had work to do.  He ran over to Knuckles who was slightly awake.  He may have been badly injured, but he is so stubborn, nothing can get him down.  He looked up at Tails and asked, "Why did you not just shoot him in the head?  I know you could have."

As Tails tried to get him up, he said, "That Eggman does not deserve the respect of a quick death.  He deserves to die slowly after what he has done."  It was apparent that Tails was very mad that his fellow tribal members where getting killed by this beast, but most of all he was mad that Eggman shot Sonic.  Normally Tails is kind and forgiving, but what Eggman did can not be forgiven.

They found Amy hiding in a special room in her house, protecting the sleeping Sonic.  It is a directive that the Shaman hides during an attack, because she must survive, so she can revive the injured if she could.  She had a busy time on her hands.  Tails was going out to help the injured to get to Amy's house, however there where so many, he had to lay them in the Main Plaza, because Amy's house ran out of room.  After Knuckles had a bit of treatment, he insisted to help the people, despite that Amy told him that she was not done with him yet.  Sally went out to help her people too, and assisted Amy in any way she could.

Amy worked as fast as she was able to save the severally injured.  However there where many that she was unable to help, because they already passed on.

Once Knuckles found all the people he went to Sally, who was helping Amy heal Mina.  "Sally," started Knuckles, "There is no denying it.  Tails saved us as well as the emerald.  He alone took that monster down.  I was not able to see too well at the time, but I am pretty sure Chaos showed up before Tails.  I never seen him show up to anyone else other than you, Sonic, and me!  I think it is time.  Tails has earned the right to know."
