Sonic Tribal: Ch.40

Chapter 40 Start Doomsday

It was in a dark room that was only lit by monitor light.  The sinister Robotnik was hard at work on his next project.  "Yessss!  Once again a work of art.  But to be successful this time, I need a new power source.  And it should be on it's way!"

Then a radio came on with a robotic voice, "Dr. Robotnik, Convoy 602 reporting in.  We have obtained the cargo.  Returning to base."

Robotnik rubbed his hands together as he laughed, "Good!!  With some finishing touches, it will soon be complete!"  He pushed in some commands and the computer soon displayed a tower of an evil nature.  "My new Doomsday Project!  Yes... I'm redoing plans, but this time...  That hedgehog will not stop me!!  And Tails, will be very useful.  Computer!!!  How far is the construction on project Doomsday?"

A computer voice answered.  "It is currently 23.46% complete.  Foundation and main lower power housing have been constructed.  Mid power housing is awaiting construction."  Then there where a couple of beeps and clicks and the voice reported, "Sir, The survey satellite has reached a complete orbit.  Receiving photos of planet."

The screen then started to show the globe, but it was nothing what Robotnik expected.  "What is this!!?  The whole planet is already a wasteland?  How am I going to test my beautiful invention if there is nothing to test it on!!?  Wait..."  He started to zoom in some darker areas and he found images of cities out in the desert, and many of them near a sea.  "That place may be suitable to test.  But first!!  I will need to make more worker bots."

"Hey Tails!!! Where are you going!!?" exclaimed Sonic as he was chasing down the fox threw the jungle.

"I told you!!  It's Cream, I can feel that she is in trouble!"  exclaimed Tails as he kept swinging from branch to branch, and flew when needed.

"But her village is the other way!!"

"She is this way Sonic!!  I know it!"  He kept on going faster and faster.  Soon he came up to the edge of the jungle.  Many of the trees have been destroyed in this area, and there were several buildings, and one looked like it was still being made.  Tails crouched down into the tall grass and watched a bunch of heavy vehicles heading to the build site.  Tails pointed to one of the vehicles, "She is in that thing!  That Robotnik guy is behind all this."

"He could be using her as bait..." started Sonic, "I do like springing traps.  Tails, are you ready to get to work?"

They both started to head down there as they jumped from cover to cover.  However by the time they got there, the vehicles went into a large door and it closed.  "Darn it!!" exclaimed Sonic.  He started to look the building over, "What do you think Tails?  Should we use our Chaos power?"

The little fox started to look at the structure being constructed.  He saw many tanks and tube connections.  "I don't think that's a good idea.  I don't know why, but I have a feeling that this place could explode if we do that.  If I'm right, it would take down half the jungle."

"Are you sure about that?"

"Trust me Sonic."  Tails started to remember that he was created from a mechanical genius, so this feeling must be from the knowledge of the past life.  He kept looking up at the hideous structure.  "We could try getting in from the top, since it's not finished."

Sonic nodded and he jumped up at the wall and started to run up it.  The twin tailed fox flew up after him and they both were at the construction area.  There were many trusses and beams being put together by hundreds of drones.  They did not seem to be interested in the two tribal members at all.  Sonic and Tails started to look for a way in, without being interrupted by any bot.

Cream was being handled by two swat bots.  She tried to struggle free as she kept screaming at them, but could not slip out of there grip.  Soon they came up to a very large door that started to click and squeal.  With a roar, the door started to open.  It looked as if it was 6 feet thick.  They came into the small chamber and the door closed behind them.  Cream was now frozen with fear, wondering what was going to happen.  Then another door in front of them started to open up.  This was also 6 feet thick.  They brought her into the chamber and Creams fur and hair started to go up towards the ceiling.

This dark round chamber had many cables and odd contraptions.  She looked up to the ceiling and saw this huge black cercal with a tube in the center that went up to another room far above.  Then there was a chilling voice, "How do you like my 30 ton mega magnet?"  Creams attention moved to Robotnik, who was in the shadows.  "It's design is perfect for harnessing large amounts of energy.  And that's why the walls are so thick for this power hub.  Swat Bots!!!  Hook her up!!"

With force, the bots took the little rabbit to a pedestal and started to hook her feet up to the machine.  "What are you going to do to me!!?" screamed Cream with fright.

Robotnik came right over and said, "There is power within you, not as much as the two tailed freak, but it will do for my plans.  With the help of this magnet, the power will be greatly magnified.  Unfortunately your body may not handle the power.  But after this project is accomplished, I wont need you anymore anyway."

"You must not do this!!  You have no idea what kind of powers you are meddling with.  You humans have been destroying the world with your greed for the powers.  That is why Chaos wanted you all purged!"

"Nice try.  But in a few days, the world will be mine.  Now excuse me, but we have more gusts on the way."  He then started to go out from the double blast door, along with his swat bots.

Sonic and Tails dropped down into a tight chamber that had steel pipes that where 5 feet in diameter, and making a loud humming noise.  "Tails," started Sonic, "What do you think all this is for?"

"I'm not sure..." answered Tails.  "I don't know anything about this place, so stop asking me!"  He then started to crawl between the tight spaces, trying not to touch some of the pipes because a lot of them are hot.

It took them a few moments, but they finally got into an open catwalk.  So far they saw this place is not a building, but one big machine.  The only places to walk on are the maintenance walkways.  They kept on going on the catwalk, never seeing another bot around.

Soon Tails's ears perked up and he said, "I can feel her over there!"  He started to head to an area where a bunch of pipes come to connect to a central point. As they got closer to it, they could see more and more exhaust, but it seemed to be harmless for the moment.   Tails found a shaft and looked down and saw Cream way down there.  "There she is!!"

"All right!!" exclaimed Sonic, "Now let's get down there and rescue her!"

"Wait Sonic!  You can't fly, and any way out of there could be guarded.  Let me drop down there and get her.  Then I will just fly right back up with her."

"All right!  I will be right here!"  The hedgehog then sat on a metal beam.

The little fox nodded and he then jumped into the black tube.  As he went down there, his fur and hair started to stand out in all directions.  The chain that was holding is loincloth snapped off and stuck to the wall of the tube.  Then the arrows flung out of his quiver and stuck into the wall too.  Then a sudden painful force seemed to grab on to Tails and caused him to scream.  It felt like the energy within him was prickling out of him.  He was in the center of the magnet, and he was held securely by the clever design of the magnetic force.

"TAILS!!" screamed Sonic in shock.  He started to jump after him, but Tails shouted back out at him.

"No Sonic!!!  Raaa!!!  Youle just get stuck!  Errrr! you gota find a way..."  Then hot steam shot out from the pipes around Sonic, singing his quills.  He had to get out of there or he would have been boiled to death.  Tails could only hope that Sonic got out of there alright.

Then the chilling laughter of Robotnik was heard, but Tails could not see him.  "You fell into my trap!  I hoped it would be that cursed Hedgehog that got in, but you have so much power.  It's time to do a little test run!  Computer!  What is the statues of the Doom Emitter!?"

Then there was an electronic voice that said, "The Doom Emitter is 36.20% complete.  The Dish only has 3 of its panels as of this time."

"It's perfect for a small test.  Are you ready Tails!?"

There was soon a loud hum that came all around the chamber.  Power surges soon came out of both Cream and Tails and flowed in a cyclone in the chamber.  They both screamed as the power tore the clothes off their bodies and disintegrated them.  The power was led into the huge cables that went into a bypass circuit.  It eventually came into a large assembly that was being built above it.  The incomplete dish began to glow and shot out a purple ray into the sky.

In a few moments, the energy came back down, about 200 miles to the east.  It hit a city and caused a big dust storm in the area.  Buildings crumbled and collapsed.  And the ground soon started to turn dark, enriched with metal.  Within seconds the whole city was destroyed.

"Yesss," chuckled Robotnik with satisfaction.  "If that is what it can do with just 1/3 of the power housing, and an incomplete Doom Emitter, Just imagine what it can do when the whole tower is completed and put to full power!  It's far more superior than my previous Doomsday Project."
